Hiking in Alaska is incredible and the options endless. AllTrails tracks over 100 hikes in the Anchorage area alone! I never even considered hiking in the winter until I moved to Alaska. That quickly changed after seeing how amazing the landscape looked blanketed in white and how quite and peacful winter hikes can be. Another perk to winter hikes is all the bears are hibernating and I don't have to be so on guard. This is something I never even thought of in the lower 48.
